Hi there, My name is Dennis Edward Mahaffy Jr. I’m an artist based out of Saginaw, Michigan. I specialize in 3D art. Specifically 3D scanning, 3D printing & 3D modeling.
My style of art definitely isn’t for everyone, but truthfully, I don’t care.
I make the art I want to make, art that shows true raw beauty.
Sometimes that beauty is found in the silhouette of a woman, or the eyes, maybe a soft but cold gaze. I aim to capture raw moments that show real life, real emotion, real depth & sometimes unfortunately real pain. The most beautiful things, often come from the most broken people.
Sometimes it’s found at 3am under a bridge in a city that cries out in violence, hoping to be restored to its former glory only to be drowned out by the sound of bullets and screams of the wounded. One of my favorite graffiti pieces has part of it faded. I almost photoshopped it back to its original glory until it occurred to me that where it was faded was because of homeless people leaning against it and wearing the paint down. To me, that’s the art in it, that’s the character to not only the piece itself but to the city.
Life isnt gentle, so why should art be?
